Rooting for the Cloud Security Alliance

This week marks the first meeting and launch of the Cloud Security Alliance, and I imagine it will be a welcome arrival for everyone who is interested in the long-term growth of cloud computing.

This week marks the first meeting and launch of the Cloud Security Alliance, and I imagine it will be a welcome arrival for everyone who is interested in the long-term growth of cloud computing.

These industry groups often get written off for too much talk and too little action, but in the case of security, I think there is reason to hope that an organization that focuses on security standards might be successful.

For portability and interoperability to really take off between public clouds, secure standards are a must, and the CSA will hopefully to take the lead on these issues. I'll be attending this week's launch at the RSA Conference, and look forward to hearing what comes out of this promising organization.
