TOPIC: How to change the screen size (width & height)

How to change the screen size (width & height) 3 months 1 week ago #13122

Hello, :)

Is there any one have the experience to change the initial screen size from 640x480 to 1024x768?
I found that after I created a new centos/redhat guest instance and press [view console] button, I can't see whole screen so that I can't find [next button] to progress my installation. Is it a bug or is it can be configured to change the size?

or where can I download qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-3.209 source code (patched qemu-kvm using by CloudStack) ?
I found there is a function call: dumb_display_init(viod) in the source code: console.c in qemu-kvm-1.2.0.tar.gz
/*
* QEMU graphical console
*

static void dumb_display_init(void)
{
DisplayState *ds = g_malloc0(sizeof(DisplayState));
int width = 640;
int height = 480;

ds->allocator = &default;_allocator;
if (is_fixedsize_console()) {
width = active_console->g_width;
height = active_console->g_height;
}
ds->surface = qemu_create_displaysurface(ds, width, height);
register_displaystate(ds);
}
Is it possible to change [int width = 640; and int height = 480;] in order to solve this problem?

Thans you.
