Hi,

I'm using CloudStack-oss-2.2.9-1-rhel5.tar.gz.

I specify my Secondary Storage as: nfs://192.168.252.1/usr/local/mysecondary (under Zone: TestZone1).
I could manually mount the NFS storage space.

I tried to add ISO via Templates -> My ISOs. I tried to add CentOS-5.5-32bit and specified the web server holding the ISO file correctly. However, the "Download progress" bar never left the 0 state. I read the forum to start SSVM -- I did /etc/init.d/cloud-management restart (which should restart it ?). I could manually wget the file from the URL specified.

Pointes are appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

Rob:

Have you added your internal site to the secstorage.allowed.internal.sites - by default there is egress filtering on internal networks.

Hi ke4qqq,

I did not set the variable.

I updated to .12 version. I finally got it back to work; the problem was that the secondary storage VM did not get started.

After hanging out at the IRC, I was explained the significance of secondary storage VM.

Once the secondary storage VM got started, I did not need to set that setting you mentioned (once the storage VM got started it worked). But it worked w/o the need to set it.

I'm using basic networking (I wonder is that why I don't need to set that?).

Thanks for following it up.

Hi,

To check if secondary storage is up, login
System -> Virtual Resources -> System VMs

You should see 2 VMs, one of them will have "System VM Type: Secondary Storage VM".
Both VMs should be running.
